Castro was born in Mthatha on 9 November 1991. He matriculated from Dale College, King William’s Town in 2009. He was the 5th best academic achiever for Dale College 2009 matric class and he obtained an academic bursary at Nelson Mandela University where he completed his LLB degree in 2014. During his academic years, Castro was a formidable rugby player. He represented the NMU under 21 rugby team, but has hung up his boots in an endeavor to transform his passion into his profession. He is fashion forward and in his spare time he enjoys going to gym and performing calisthenics routines. On 1 January 2019 Castro was appointed as a Director at Bate Chubb & Dickson Inc.
